Ruan Smit, who was born in Warden and raised in Kroonstad, is a person that adhered to his childhood dream of becoming a professional photographer.  The privilege of being exposed to the vast, open planes of the Free State has led to his life long, intense passion for outdoor photography.

This passion is reflected in his unique style of merging outdoor scenery and a subject into a beautiful and artistic picture.  This leads to originality in his work that sets him apart from other photographers.
